POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager will be responsible for developing and localizing the value proposition, conducting outreach and awareness raising activities, and most importantly recruiting new corporate participants and retaining existing participants to reach annual growth target set in UNGC China strategy and providing membership services to maximize the collective impact of UN Global Compact's participants in China towards the SDGs.
The Manager will report to Senior Manager, Communications and Partnerships and work in close collaboration with Outreach & Engagement team and programs team based in New York.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead the localization of global value proposition tailored for Chinese business needs and priorities. Produce and update UNGC brochure in Chinese with strong value proposition and clearly designed menu of services to members.
• Identify, utilize and streamline engagement channels, tools and tactics for UNGC to recruit new corporate participants in sustainable manner in China.
• Conduct market intelligence collection and data analytics, take responsibility for annual and quarterly recruitment and retention efforts to reach annual growth target in China. Make monthly work plans and execute accordingly in a measurable manner.
• Manage salesforce and Pardot database to track and expedite progress and produce regular reports to analyze and predict participants growth characteristics and trends.
• Design and lead recruitment-driven and sectoral targeted digital campaigns to attract potential members.
• Collaborate with programs colleagues to socialize relevant contents to deepen corporate engagement.
• Leverage internal and external resources to conduct outreach and awareness raising activitics.
• Manage and improve the onboarding process of new participants and conduct orientation regularly for participants on UNGC's offerings and services.
• Establish a mechanism (not limited to questionnaires or surveys) for regular updates, collections of needs, inputs and feedback from active participants and continue to improve the membership services design, mechanism and offerings.
• Actively engage non-communicating participants and reach annual target with objective of minimizing non-communicating participants and avoiding de-listings.
• Engage existing participants to remain active to reach annual retention target, realize the value of submitting an annual report on progress and conduct data analysis to summarize progress, and deepen their engagement in programs and projects to maximize SDG impact.
• Constantly monitor business needs and sustainability news/challenges from UNGC participants from China, and reach out to them to take up the opportunities the UN Global Compact has to help them make progress.
• Develop presentations contents, identify public engagements and member growth opportunities, and constantly creating accurate data and quality contents for social media, website etc.to enhance the awareness and reach of the UN Global Compact in China.
• Develop sponsorship proposals that will mobilize resources for UNGC, leveraging market intelligence, projects and content expertise.
• Actively use and shape tools, systems, and processes to support the improvement of China. Operations and Participant Engagement teams efficiency and company satisfaction over quality service delivery and value proposition, including the Global Compact database, CRM software (Salesforce), tracking and reporting systems.
• Approximately 15-20% travel.

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
● An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics, political science, social science or related field.
● 5-10 years of experience in management, sales & marketing, client support. Experience working on issues related to corporate sustainability is preferred. Experience working with stakeholder groups in the region is preferred.
● Excellent communication and organizational skills in English, with the ability to coordinate resources effectively.
● In-depth understanding of corporate social responsibility, sustainable development goals, ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) and the United Nations Global Compact and its Ten Principles.
● Team player with the ability to coordinate work in a multicultural environment.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Manager, Communications and Media Relations will provide senior-level expertise, strategic advice and hands-on support for the UN Global Compact in China on communications and media relations. He or she will be responsible for driving media relations, marketing and communications strategy as well as the conducting daily communications tasks of the UN Global Compact in China. The role will involve hands-on tasks on news and communications, marketing and media relations including adapting UN Global Compact’s global content for a Chinese audience, writing regional and local news stories or publication on the Chinese websites, set up a database and maintaining and nurturing media contacts, feeding traditional media and social media channels with compelling content, pitching stories to media organizations and communications networks to maximize the impact, reach and reputation of our work.
As a skilled writer and experienced communications specialist, the senior manager is expected to play a key role in building media and journalist’s networks and collaborate closely with press and media from and present in China, to substantially elevate media coverage and communications channels and impact of UN Global Compact in China. This position reports directly to the Head of China Office of UN Global Compact with a dotted line to the Chief of Communications in New York.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Responsible for drafting and forming a media and communications strategy for UNGC operations in China, with the objective of enhancing publicity and brand exposure of UNGC in the Chinese market targeting key stakeholders;
· Build a media and communications work plan with roadmap and approaches and identify tools and resources suitable for the Chinese business and sustainability context;
· Prepares and disseminates diverse information products; researches, drafts and edits information materials (press releases, press briefing material, presentation decks, speeches, op-eds);
· Write, edit and update the visual and editorial content for UN Global Compact’s Chinese official website and social media, including but not limited to translating global news from English to Chinese; writing news stories about regional and local activities;
· Write and produce current social media accounts in Chinese on daily basis, including UNGC public WeChat account and UNGC LinkedIn account in Chinese;
· Identify and open new social media channels for UNGC in China to feature UNGC’ and action platform’s main output, deliverables and activities to reach larger company and stakeholder’ base;

· Under guidance, organize press conference and news briefing, media roundtable to support Head of China office to promote the priorities of UN Global Compact on the ground;
· Create, develop and edit visual designs and editorial content for talking points, key messages, delivering marketing campaigns, press conference and events, in accordance with UN Global Compact’s design standards and national intellectual property regulations;
· Compile, write, edit, design and market UN Global Compact’s official research outcomes and other strategic publications;
· Leverage internal and external capacity and partners to develop print products and digital flyers customized to audiences in the Chinese business context;
· Liaise regularly with the Communications team in NY and cascade/translate/adapt international content for use in China to drive impact;

Results Expected
The Senior Manager, Communications and Media Relations, will develop and manage media and communications strategy and implementation as part of China operations team. Under the supervision of Head of China office and in close liaison with communications team at UNGC HQ in New York, he or she will be instrumental to build strong external communications for UNGC in China to ensure contents are updated and tailored to Chinese business and stakeholder groups through both traditional and new media channels and maximize UNGC’s brand and activities exposure in Chinese market. The Senior Manager also supports localization of global content and news and support the promotion of key UNGC workstreams in the region. UNGC’s brand and publicity shall be greatly enhanced as reflected by increasing number and frequency of coverage in the press and media in China and the region.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Manager, Programs Development and Business Insights will be working under China operations team under the supervision of Head, China office of UN Global Compact. The Senior Manager will be responsible for leading the development of programs with a view to address sustainability challenges and deepen corporate engagement in China. The Senior Manager will also act as research lead to lead research projects, draft reports, lead the sustainability related publications and business insights briefs on key sectors or topics.
The Senior Manager takes the overall responsibility for developing the sustainability programs including environmental, social and governance aspects and ten principles of Global Compact, previous experiences on executive training programs are a plus.
A proven track record of research and program development experiences on sustainability related areas are a must. Strong academic and analytical experiences is desirable. The Senior manager will report to Head, China office of UN Global Compact and work closely with programs team at UNGC headquarters.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop a solid Programs Development and Research plan on corporate sustainability for UNGC China covering ESG and ten principles of Global Compact.
· Leading the research on corporate sustainability including environmental, social and governance aspects, for example, key indicators on corporate sustainability, analytical report from UNGC’s COP system, and relevant index, matrix and evaluation system for corporate sustainability.
· Lead the content design of deliverables, publications, business briefs and thought leadership products from China office.
· Build an expert network composed of thought leaders, academic scholars and relevant stakeholders to provide constant knowledge input to the ongoing research and program design and development.
· Play a crucial role on supporting the analytical framework and evaluation system of recognition program such as SDG pioneer Program in China.
· Identify and constantly update the office head with latest trends for research topics with value adding impact on corporations. Drafting quarterly newsletter with quality programmatic contents and key findings to regularly update corporate participants.
· Responsible for analyzing Communications on Progress (COP) data and produce analytical reports. Conduct comparison analysis across countries and sectors. Stay up-to-date of domestic and international ESG disclosure regulations, policies and trends across government, industrial associations and key stakeholder groups and present business insights on regular basis.
· Work collaboratively with relevant colleagues and teams to build corporate programmatic engagement plan, execute the plan and report on progress on monthly basis to office head.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● Supports outreach and engagement in China through presentations, public engagements, marketing partnerships, etc. to extend the awareness and reach of the UN Global Compact among relevant business audiences;
● Assistant to attract businesses to join the UNGC through effective communication of the value and support that the UN Global Compact delivers to business participants;
● Assists in onboarding new business participants, supporting them to make the most use of their participation in the UN Global Compact;
● Supports in conducting marketing related researches and paperworks to support outreach and engagement campaigns;
● Helps business participants with ongoing administration and customer support: application review, onboarding, annual reporting, maintaining and updating company profile/contact info, logo requests, etc.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Consultant, Climate and Environment Program will be working under China Liaison Office and responsible for strategically planning and executing the climate and environment related accelerators and programmes in China to systematically take into account the Global and China Strategy, corporate demands, and international and national priorities. The Consultant will be taking the overall responsibility for developing programmatic offerings, rolling out programmes as planned, engaging participants, supporting new recruits, creating programmatic contents, measuring progress, evaluating programmatic results, and reporting on the progress and outcomes. The Consultant additionally needs to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the success of the programmes as well as the impact of programmatic work of the UNGC. The role will support the membership growth plan and help engage more businesses from China committed to the global corporate sustainability movement and take collective actions towards the goals set forth in the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and Paris Agreement.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute a programmatic strategy and plan in the area of climate and environment catering for the Chinese market and national priorities based on corporate actual needs.
- Support and localize global programmes and initiatives in the areas of climate and environment into Chinese market, translate and develop associated materials to engage Chinese audiences for participation and accelerate their corporate climate actions.
- Lead the execution of Climate Ambition Accelerator program in China. Track, monitor and report on progress.
- Work across internal functions involving Participant Engagement, Marketing, Events, Communication teams to incorporate the concrete plans on climate for lead generation, participant recruitment, fund-raising, thought leadership and impact enhancement as an important segment of the programmatic design.
- Develop and manage the programme development, operationalization documents, implementation timelines, and regular reports on programmatic progress under climate and environment portfolio.
- Liaise with internal and external key stakeholders, including internal function teams, Local Networks, and partners to collaborate on development, roll-out and improvement of climate subject programmes in China.
- Coordinate, connect, nurture and support pragramme participants to ensure active engagement, robust networking and timely updates to generate collective impact on climate.
- Organize thematic event under climate and environment work stream to deepen stakeholder engagement.
- Research and analyze to generate inputs and contents to be incorporated into the programmatic materials in both on-paper and electronic formats. Lead the draft of reports under climate and environment themes.
- Plan and execute the budget plan for delivering the programmes, and ensure the alignment of the programmatic implementation with the financial plan.
- Plan, manage and follow up measurement, monitoring and evaluation processes to ensure the effective programmes with expected deliverables, and execute calibration actions whenever deviations occur.
- Collect, manage and analyze the data, feedback and metrics collection to generate programmatic documents for internal reporting and review.
- Utilize, distill and organize programmatic outcomes and deliverables to develop the climate subject training materials to support Academy and other capacity building and training plans.
- Manage the preparation of meeting minutes, summary reports, presentations and other written documents needed for implementing the programmes.
- Provide substantial input to speech writing and drafting talking points and prepare slides on climate topics.
- Manage the administrative tasks and coordination associated with the climate programmatic implementation.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- Approximately 15-20% travel intensity.
RESULTS EXPECTED
Overall, the Consultant will be responsible for designing, localizing, developing, implementing, measuring and improving the climate subject programmes to suit corporate needs in China and provide programmatic service to businesses for accelerating the collective climate actions. The results expected may include the increased number of participants participated in Climate related programmes notably Climate ambition accelerators, new Chinese prospects and recruits into the UNGC as members, tangible deliverables and reports developed in the area of climate and environment, and the measurable impacts of the programmes.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate must meet the following requirements:
- Education: Master’s degree (or international equivalent) preferable in the environmental science, climate science, engineering, business administration, management, or related field. A first-level university degree in combination with additional two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Work experience: 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in climate/environmental science and/or project management is required. Experience on stakeholder relations and engagement is desired.
- Knowledge and experience working on corporate sustainability and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) in a multi-culture organization. First-hand experience working in and/or pragmatic understanding of both public and private sectors is a strong desirable.
- Outstanding writing skills in both English and Chinese. Experience in writing programmatic documents and presentations is desirable.
- Strong communication, inter-personal and time management skills are a must.
- Well-organized, result-oriented, multi-tasking work ability and team-player.
- Languages: Fluency in English and Chinese is required.
- Self-driven, can-do, eager-to-learn, self-adaptiveness and details-oriented attitudes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software and virtual conference technology.

The Communication and Content Intern will work on the UN Global Compact China Operations Team to provide assistance in promoting the UN Global Compact’s public recognition and branding in general. The main tasks are to maintain the conventional and social media channels, including content creation and management; to assist in marketing communications and campaigns for promotion and recruitment purposes; to support in content research, consolidation and creation needed to localize and execute China strategy and programs; to assist in the preparation, edition and designing of the publications and promotional materials; and to conduct assigned marketing research and outreach communication.
TERMS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Create, develop and edit design products, such as social medial graphics, infographics and other visuals for publications, campaigns and events, in accordance with UN Global Compact design standards and policies;
● Assist to prepare, create and maintain the visual and editorial content for UN Global Compact’s media and communication interfaces, including official Chinese website and Chinese social media;
● Assist to design and implement marketing campaigns to stakeholders for promoting UN Global Compact's brand, events and for motivating recruitment;
